BIRDHOUSE

The mother bird flies to the little circular hole in the side of the birdhouse and wiggles herself inside.

She finds her three children birds sitting around the pile of food she prepared,  waiting patiently for her so they can have lunch together.

The mother bird looks questioningly at the pile... “Did one of you already eat?”

The three children birds shake their heads no... they’re just waiting for her.

The mother bird looks at them suspiciously... “some of the foods gone. It didn’t just disappear.” A child bird suggests, “maybe you didn’t prepare as much food as you thought.”

The mother bird divides what’s left of the food into four equal portions, one for each of them, and they have lunch together.

After the meal, the mother bird tells them they can go fly around outside and play... she’ll clean up.

The children birds line up to leave the birdhouse. The first child bird wiggles through the little circular hole and flies away. Then the second one flies away... but the third one gets stuck in the hole.

The mother bird walks up behind it and gives it a hard spanking.
