Worm Life

Wilma the worm and her family live near a field of potatoes. Whenever they leave home and crawl through the soil, potatoes are everywhere. It’s a potato buffet twenty-four seven.

Every night when Wilma comes home, her mother asks, “what’d you do today?” And every night, Wilma replies, “I crawled through the soil and had potatoes for lunch with some friends.”

One day, Wilma’s father announces they’re going on a road trip to visit their cousins.

They pack up some potatoes, start their multi-day crawl, and eventually arrive.

Wilma’s cousins look great They live near a carrot patch.

Her cousins ask her if she’d like to go crawling and eat carrots. Wilma’s excited She’s never tasted carrots. All she’s ever eaten is potatoes.

Wilma tastes carrots for the first time... they’re SCRUMPTIOUS! Raw carrots taste much better than raw potatoes... they’re sweeter.

At the end of their trip, Wilma begs her parents to let her stay with her cousins near the carrot patch... but her parents refuse.

When Wilma gets home, she crawls out to the potato field… and while she chews potatoes, she thinks about carrots.
